M002 ENTER THE VOID / MOTION (shortcut)
Intention
Gaspar Noé’s Enter the Void is a bold and dreamlike film about life, death, and what lies in between. Told through a first-person view, it blends glowing lights, fast cuts, and floating movement to create a strange and powerful experience.
More than a story, it feels like a vision. The film invites you to drift through memories, emotions, and the unknown, to lose your sense of time and self. It’s not what the film tells you that stays with you, but what it makes you feel: a deep, hypnotic glimpse into the cycle of existence.
Concept
This video is a personal reinterpretation of Enter the Void, focused on its emotional contrasts, calm vs chaos, softness vs violence. I used rotoscoping to redraw key scenes by hand, keeping the rough, imperfect lines as part of the style.
Inspired by the film’s raw, handheld camera and neon Tokyo nights, I duplicated and layered moments to create a dreamlike, fragmented rhythm. The result is a glowing, handmade version of Oscar’s journey, both intimate and intense.
